assignment 19: My Christmas traditions

for Christmas my family has a pretty typical celebration, the tree, open presents on Christmas morning and all those typical celebrations. The main difference from my families celebration compared to others, is that me and my sisters birthday are very close to Christmas. My sisters birthdays is Christmas eve and mine is four days after Christmas making one Biig celebration, but usually one present for both, where-as most kids get presents for each.

assignment 16: Whats a story board

What is a story board?

A story board is a movie or play idea/script that is drawn out in the form of a comic or animation. The story board images should include all the characters, their expressions and emotions the board should also include the script, the time lapse and the general setting of the story.

The story board can also include the actions of the camera, such as fade in/out of scenes and other camera effects like that. giving the proofreader more of an idea of what emotion the writer wants the reader to feel.

                                                                  (general lay-out)

Story boards can be extremely accurate and descriptive with not very detailed drawings,

they can be scribbles with no description at all

Or they can be extremely detailed drawing with very little description.

as long as the general story, setting and atmosphere of the story can be

seen by the reader

Reasons for the storyboard

Making the story board allows you to picture and visualize the story, scene by scene. it allows you too add your story, take parts out you don't like and maybe change things like the camera angle or expression or emotion of the characters.

The story board also lays out your ideas in a easily changeable lay-out for people to give constructive criticism. people may not agree with or want to change the script, emotion, the setting or any variable making the sketch/story up before its too late.

Ex: if the story portrays a robot a robot that beats people up, in the storyboard the robot looks mad. Some one might say that the robot shouldn't show emotion. changing the story all together, yet making the story more probable and hence likable. (in my opinion believable stories are better ones)
